In morally upright, uptight times, and with little money and no backing, Hugh Hefner took a gamble. He launched Playboy magazine in 1953, which after a rough start defied the odds and became a huge success.
On February 29, the playboy potentate expanded his empire with his next big idea: the Playboy Club. The original downtown Chicago club clicked, and dozens more opened in some 30 cities worldwide. Cardholders reveled in the permissive atmosphere while sipping drinks served by buxom Playmates. Some of Hef’s bunnies went on to future fame, including actresses Sherilyn Fenn and Lauren Hutton, and rock star Deborah Harry. Speaking of Playmates, the search is on for Playboy’s 55th Anniversary Playmate!

1. this site is a little difficult to maneuver around, but, I gotts tell u one thing. Naked happy girls would be great if u didn't have a homosexual doing the photography ! If he's not gay, he should be. He's offensive and it turns me off everytime i hear his voice. So I immediately turn the chammel. Now, he's on much much more, so I turn the channel much much more. If u continue to air this man, I will cancel my subscription ! Thank you Steve Earl drumrstv40@aol.com
