Anna David breaks down Swing Episode 6

I felt immediately protective of Sabrina when I met her: not because she was young, though she was, and not because she talked about how it took her a long time to get comfortable, always implying – if not stating -- that Anthony was better than her at dealing with other people. She was just so vulnerable and open while, ironically enough, remaining concerned that she wasn’t vulnerable and open. Yet I thought she and Anthony had one of the strongest relationships of all the couples that came through the house. While many of the other ones were clearly hot for each other or in situations that worked, Sabrina and Anthony were, it was always clear, in it for the long haul. A figurative Mack truck could come and descend on their relationship – which, as it turns out, sort of happened while they were in the Swing house – and they’d do whatever they had to in order to clear away the wreckage and move on.
It’s merely frosting on the cake, in my opinion, that they’d know each other’s body parts anywhere (you’re just going to have to watch the episode to find out what that means!)

The Final Countdown On Episode 9 Of BROOKLYN KINDA LOVE!

Wow, believe it or not there’s only one more episode of BROOKLYN KINDA LOVE left! And what a wild journey it has been. Look at any of these happy couples on the street and you would never guess that they’ve secretly had threesomes, battled substance abuse, and fought bitterly with their families. But that’s the magic of BROOKLYN, isn’t it? Going just a little deeper into what really makes a ‘mature’ relationship. Well don’t worry, there’s still plenty of drama left. Nikki and Chris are in the middle of a major skirmish at the moment. What they’re going through aren’t petty fights, but some serious “big picture” stuff. Will Chris be able to accept the fact that Nikki doesn’t want the 9 to 5 life? And will Nikki ever come to terms with “domestication.” This could be make it or break it time for the two…something we’ll find out more on next week. Vinny and Rhiannon both want to take their love to the next level, but there’s a major stumbling block in their way. And this one happens to come in white powder form. If Rhiannon is serious about marriage and kids, she’s going to have to give up her ultimate vice, something Vinny is heavily pushing for. And how about Bek and Erin? Sure they can laugh it up and enjoy a good Scrabble game, but we get the feeling there’s a major revelation in store on Episode 10. In the meantime, we did get a funny new term out of the girls. Did you like the way they “Jilled Off” underneath the sheets? As for Frances and Braniff, we really think they deserve their own spinoff. Their relationship is like a sitcom and soap opera all rolled into one! This time the issue was whether or not they were starting to “get tired” of each other. Braniff definitely seemed to have his mind on other things than sexing up his girlfriend. Will the spark stay lit until the end of season? Anna David insight on episode 5 of SWING!

If I went out seeking people who have had the polar opposite life experiences than I have, I might have found Daryl and Nikki, a sweet couple who’d been together since they were kids and hailed from a small town in Northern California. Nikki stepped into the house tentatively and kept her sexuality pretty much under wraps – so much so that I actually felt a little bit like I was invading her boundaries when I quizzed her about what she hoped to experience while she was there.
Daryl was an immediate jokester and had quite specific ideas about what he wanted to have happen and I couldn’t help but think he’d perhaps pressured his wife into a trip to the swing house and the mother of four just went along with it because getting to spend the night in a luxurious manse away from responsibility sure sounded like a nice vacation.
Goes to show you what I know. If that was a girl being pressured, she sure learned the art of succumbing fast.

Life Moves Quick On Episode 8 Of BROOKLYN KINDA LOVE!

It’s amazing how fast life moves sometimes. Just a few weeks ago, our four BROOKLYN KINDA LOVE couples were enjoying a carefree life in the city. Cut to Episode 8 and we’ve got news about nuptials and potential baby plans! Could there be some shockers in store for this month’s season finale? You’ll have to keep watching to find out. As for now, Bek and Erin seem awful giddy about that backyard wedding. Will they be able to keep up the romance until the “I Do’s?” By the episode’s end, we’re not so sure! It looks like someone in the relationship hasn’t been telling the whole truth. Oh yea, Erin is PISSED. Let’s hope Bek (or at least one of their cute puppy dogs) can calm down the situation. And what’s up with Vinny and Rhiannon talking about parenthood? Just last week we saw her indulging in some “no-no” nose powder. Is she really ready to handle a pregnancy at this point? Perhaps these two should think it through just a little more before making any life-changing decisions. Speaking of life-changing decisions, Nikki and Chris are butting heads about passion vs. practicality. Chris has got law school on his mind and wants to take the stable route, while Nikki just can’t escape the music bug. Looks like she prefers to spend her 9 to 5 hours in a studio behind a microphone. But will her talents be enough to pay the bills? And as for good old Frances and Braniff, this episode brought us plenty of screaming and lots of makeup sex. Is it just us, or do you need to turn the volume down on the TV everytime Frances goes off? She can definitely raise the roof when the screaming matches begin. But, in the end, everything seemed to work out for these two…or rather these THREE! Oh yea, BROOKLYN KINDA LOVE just got a little more crowded. SWING’s Anna David discusses Episode 4!

Ahhh, Nikki and Mark. What can I say about Nikki and Mark? Well, it was clear from moment one that she wore the pants in that particular relationship. And they both seemed younger – if not biologically, then at least emotionally – from the other couples that had traipsed through the house. I chatted with them about their relationship – they had actually known each other for a few years but had always been dating other people, which is why they’d only recently gotten involved – but the truth is, they (meaning she) seemed far less interested in talking to me than they were in interacting with one woman in particular. I’m not talking about Ashley or Meghan or even Nicoleta, but about the most alluring girl in the house: Lady Camera. Still, there was something quite sweet about how concerned Mark seemed to be about Nikki’s feelings -- though I got the feeling he’d learned to do that the hard way.

And no, I’m not talking about the state he was in while watching Ashley, Meghan and Nicoletta do their bedroom dance.
