Does the name Russ Meyer ring a bell? Decorated World War II cameraman, nude photographer, controversial screenwriter, celebrated satirist, all good stuff…but to a majority of America he’ll always be known as the Godfather of the modern sex flick! And to help celebrate a true Playboy legend, we’re airing five of his most famous films this March on Playboy TV!

Born nearly 90 years ago, Mr. Meyer and Playboy have had a long and storied relationship. Going all the way back to the 1950’s and the infancy of the bunny brand, his photography work with Hef helped launch the magazine. Over the years he shot dozens of nude centerfolds (including one of his own wife!), but that was only the beginning. Starting in the 1960’s, he channeled his talents into satirical sexploitation films that were groundbreaking, hilarious, and full of big breasted ladies! Playboy TV is proud to premiere some of his most famous “classics”. So bring out Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa because these are adult treasures multiple generations can enjoy!

First up, probably the most famous of all Russ Meyer films, FASTER PUSSYCAT, KILL! KILL! Going all the way back to 1965, this black-and-white masterpiece caused quite a bit of commotion in its day. And if you think about it, hot go-go dancers on the run, housewife kidnappings, leather chick catfights, and a dimwitted character named Vegetable sound pretty controversial today too! Not to mention cheap sex, cigarettes, and a wonderfully trashy early ‘60s street hood vibe. Get your RM intro course in bad kitties when FASTER PUSSYCAT premieres Monday March 1 at 9:00pm E/P.

Then it’s on to documentary territory. No, we’re not going to show you boring footage of World War II. When Russ Meyer makes a documentary, he goes straight for the boobs! Stripper boobs to be exact. MONDO TOPLESS is an in-depth investigation on the state of stripperhood back in good ole’ 1966. Set in vintage San Francisco, you’ll get to hear about how these dancers get their kicks, what bra sizes men like best, and why the sexual revolution was on the cusp of exploding. Plus it’s got a cool retro soundtrack and was banned in several countries. Go MONDO TOPLESS with Russ Meyer on Monday March 8 at 9:00pm E/P.

After that it’s time to jump ahead to 1979 for one of Russ’s last great sexploits. BENEATH THE VALLEY OF THE ULTRA-VIXENS was co-written by thumbs-up critic Roger Ebert and sticks its middle finger to everything deemed “appropriate” by America’s censors. A little bit interracial, a little bit sexually violent, and a LOT of huge boobs (are we starting to see a trend here?), this flick’s dishing out all kinds of social commentary on cheaters, Bible thumpers, and sex with homemade devices. Whoa boy, the ‘70s were a WILD time and this movie’s the definitive proof! BENEATH THE VALLEY OF THE ULTRA-VIXENS premieres Monday March 15 at 9:00pm E/P!

Ever wanted to know about the origins of girl-girl action in film? You may want to start with CHERRY, HARRY, & RAQUEL! Featuring two hotties and that dude you’ve seen in a dozen movies, this 1970 classic broke tons of barriers when it came to cinematic lipstick lesbianism and drug use. Not to mention huge black girl boobs, naked nymphos in the desert, and hotties in nothing but a headdress! We’re pretty that hadn’t been done much before CHERRY, HARRY & RAQUEL and not much else has been able to top it. See for yourself Monday March 22 at 9:00pm E/P!

And just to wrap things up, Russ Meyer’s SUPERVIXENS! Often regarded as one of his funniest films, this 1975 classic mixes the frenetic madness of a Looney Tunes cartoon with nonstop sets of naked DDs! This movie’s got a cast of the ‘70s finest racks jiggling in between explosions, psychotic farmers, and naked romps in the hay! This isn’t just classic cinema, this is eye-popping entertainment and a great end-of-the-month tribute our icon. Though sadly Russ Meyer is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the racks and curvy butts of SUPERVIXENS! Catch the premiere Monday March 29 at 9:00pm and find out more about the master himself at russmeyer.com!

6. really, what is up with Playboy Tv? Years ago, the network had some of the hottest programs available. Now it's a bunch of lame reruns and awful "reality" shows. Why were all those live shows like Night Calls, Private Calls and Lex in the City canned? Whatever happened to Adults Stars, Naked Truth and Sexy Girls Next Door? I bet 90% of the viewers would rather see these shows revived then ancient Russ Meyer films. At least put the classic shows on the indemand service or jukebox, but they rarely update those sites either. I've inquired about this numerous times but they NEVER answer email! I hope things get better, but it doesn't look like it!

7. We had reruns before, but now we have movies from the 60's. 7 lives exposed from 2001, e-rotic reruns, money talks reruns, they canceled night calls a year or two ago but now they bring it back with reruns from 2006. Does anyone at Playboy TV have a new idea. I have gotten to the point that my 17.99 monthly fee to watch reruns is not worth it. Playboy TV all reruns, Playboy magazine cutting back to 11 issues and with less content. The monthly Playmates are all the same, girls with no talent but with alot of tattos. The 1 hour summary are all reruns. The movies you do run all run time and time again. I agree with #1 - The programing does suck. The only thing Playboy is doing is charging their price but lowering the content. How many businesses stay in business doing that. Best of luck to all of you people running this organization on your next job.

9. Russ Meyers was a genius, and Playboy TV is genius to be featuring these movies. "Decorated World War II cameraman, nude photographer, controversial screenwriter, celebrated satirist". A man to be emulated by anyone.
