How long have we been telling you about PLAYBOY SHOOTOUT? If you recall, way back in November we were Tweeting for recruits to apply for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And WOW, did we get a lot of responses! You remember the premise, right? A Playboy Idol type competition (if you will) that gives 10 amateur photographers and 10 amateur models the chance to actually make it into the pages of Playboy magazine! What guy hasn’t fantasized about being able to shoot Playmates for a living? What girl wouldn’t want to be showcased in the magazine and launch a career that’ll expose her to millions of fans. For both sides, taking a shot at PLAYBOY SHOOTOUT was simply a no-brainer. The hard part for us was actually sifting through the mountains of incredible submissions and narrowing the final list down to 20. We were obviously VERY impressed with all of the pix that showed up in our mailbox, but alas, 1,000 contestants would not make for a truly compelling showdown (there’s always Playboy TV CASTING CALLS for that). Instead, we’ve gathered the crème de la crème and sent them to our Malibu mansion for an exercise in talent, drama, and winner-take-all dedication. Imagine the feeling of meeting hostess (and former Playmate of the Year) Brande Roderick, getting mentored by legendary photographer Arny Freytag, and taking on challenges from a panel of judges that include Miss November ’04 Cara Zavaleta, Playboy camera god Stephen Wayda, and an array of guest celebrities! And believe us, this is no fluffy, lightweight reality show. We’re pairing each photographer and model into random teams and putting their skills to the test with timed shoots that require creativity, rapid-fire instincts, and an overflow of sexiness! You’ll never know what elements Brande will throw into the mix (motorcycles, bathtubs, fireballs), but if our teams can’t turn them into absolutely stunning pictorials, they’ll be shown the door! And as with all cutthroat competitions, there is definitely a fair share of backstabbing, catfighting, and temper tantrums to keep things entertaining. Ultimately, only 1 photographer and 1 centerfold will get Hef’s final thumbs up, and we are not kidding when we say you WILL be seeing them in the magazine, in the media, and beyond. So stay ahead of the Playmate curve, catch up on the buzz, and don’t miss the one-hour premiere of PLAYBOY SHOOTOUT, Saturday April 3 at 10PM!
